New modern farmhouse style ADU, with full basement. This project allowed a family unit to stay close together by creating a generous 2,400 SF living space for the grandparents to move into, on site. The sloped property encouraged a modest facade by allowing the main floor to bunker into the hillside. The uphill side structural wall was an impressive 25 feet tall, all of which is below grade. We designed the overall architecture with lots of natural light, a fresh look, and spacious passages throughout to maneuver easily. The soaring shed roof and clerestory windows create a dramatic great room, which is the heart of this home. — GC: Changras & Frey Construction
